SpySweeper 5.5 is an anti-spyware utilility to keep your PC protected.
SpySweeper 5.5 blocks known and emerging spyware threats as you browse, before they reach your computer. If you´re already infected, it locates and removes spyware from your PC, even that using rootkit technology.
The program updates via Internet everyday, so the definitions are allways up to date.
You can perform a full sweep of your computer, in search of spyware. If the program finds something, you can quarantine it. You will need to have an active subscription in order to remove threats.
You can set shields to improve your system´s protection. They are grouped in Network Shields, Web Browser Shields, Windows System Shields, Startup Programs Shield and Email Attachments Shield.
You can add antivirus protection if you like, provided by WebRoot.
You must have the following in order to run Spy Sweeper 5.5.: Windows 2000, Vista (32 bit versions of Home Basic, Premium, Business, or Ultimate), or XP (32 bit versions of Professional, Home, Media Center, or XP Tablet).
Your computer must have at least a 300 Mhz processor, 100 MB hard drive space, 256 MB RAM, Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher or FireFox 2.0 or higher for connecting to the Webroot web site.
Advantages:
- It´s very powerful, it can protect you from most spywares.
Disadvantages:
- The free version doesn´t allow you to remove anything, just tells you that the threat is on your system.
